Pang & Meaghan

What's your name?  It's me!  Meaghan!

Who is your friend? Pang!

Does your friend have a blog or shop? Yes, she does!  She blogs at PrettyLittleFings.blogspot.com and she sells her crafty treats at PrettyLittleFings.etsy.com!

Tell us a little bit about your friendship: We met just before Rock-n-Shop 2008.  She found me after the vendor list was announced and got in touch via Etsy.  We met at the show and have been friends ever since!  Pang's a really fantastic photographer, a nanny, a hostess (with the mostest) and an all around creative person.  I admire her perspective, her ability to see beauty and joy in just about everything, her love of cupcakes and children's books and every little fing she makes.  She's a great gal and a super pal.

What handmade delights did you choose for Pang?

Mr. Moustache Tote Bag by SirenaConJersey - $21
Anyone who knows Pang knows she loves moustaches!  Last December during Handmade Mart, Pang and I were neighbors to Fuzzy Ink who happened to have an ENORMO plush moustache up for raffle.  Pang loved it.  And then on top of it, This Chickadee gifted her with a set of moustache salt and pepper shakers.  It was a moustachioed afternoon and I think this bag would be perfect for her jaunts about town.

Vintage Children's Book (Saucy, 1968) from VintageSurplus - $8
Like me, Pang collects children's books...and from what I recall, especially cute vintage editions!  I saw this book many months ago and I thought it would appeal to her.  The illustrations are cute and I love the name the author chose for the dog.  I think Pang gets a lot of inspiration for her crafty things from her children's books.  This can only help, right?

In a frenzied hunt for baker's twine last year, I wound up shipping Pang a bunch of itty bitty spools from the Michael's/Martha Stewart collection that she later found on her own.  The twine was used to tie up some sweet plush mini-cookie sets she made for the holidays.  I thought she might like to have a grown up spool of twine to keep in her new workshop, specifically in lumberjack colors!

Cuckoo Clock Sleeveless Tee by Red Prairie Press - $32
Pang has some pretty amazing tattoos, specifically one on her upper arm, and she also works with a little kid during the day, so I thought this shirt would be a fun, whimsical but fashionable thing for her to wear while running around outside during the hot summer months.  It could also be something to wear out for a night on the town.  It just seemed very Pangy!

Lumberjacks (blank card) by dudeandchick - $4.50
As I alluded to before, Pang loves lumberjacks and plaid and her boyfriend JR is a stunning example of what a lumberjack-in-training should look like!  I thought she might like to give him this card as a romantic, lumberjacky gesture of plaid love.

Vintage Owl Figurine Family by ModishVintage - $14
Even though she might be over them at this point, I will always associate owls with Pang.  When I saw this chirpy, zesty little vintage family I immediately thought of her.  I can imagine these on a windowsill or a dresser.  They are insanely cute, aren't they?!  Ask Em, I will sometimes open the listing at home and hold up our laptop and make them talk in silly voices.  Oh dear.

Ladder Necklace by The Harbinger Co. - $78
Finally!  Pang just had a stunning chest piece tattooed and I thought this necklace would be an interesting complement to the tattoo's soft and colorful beauty.  I love the architectural quality of the ladders and the different lengths that give it a fun and gentle curve.  I hope she likes it too.

Thanks, myself!
